| | You may wish to have a dip in the warm Indian Ocean or just lie and soak up the sun on one of the magnificent blue flag beaches. Why not pay a visit to the nearby KZN Sharks Board and view a shark being dissected as well as a most informative and interesting presentation, or take a leisurely stroll along one of the Umhlanga lagoons tranquil nature trails. (look out for the monkeys)
For those who may be that little bit more energetic you may wish to take a slow jog (or a run) along the O'CONNOR Promenade with its spectacular view of the sea or perhaps you just want to relax and sit on one of the many benches along the shore, ponder life and watch the ships sail by. Why not give "lady luck" a chance to smile down upon you and visit either the Suncoast or Sibaya Casino's which are situated less than six or seven kilometers from THE SANDRINGHAM.
For the "shop-a-holic" there is Gateway Theatre Of Shopping, one of the largest shopping malls on the continent of Africa, with its huge array of shops, restaurants, pubs, clubs, Cinema's and theatres. The centre even boasts a wave park (The only double wave park in the world), a Skate park designed by Tony Hawk and its own rock climbing wall. There is also an enormous Physical fitness centre as well as much, much more - this centre is well worth a visit.
For the sport-lover, we have the recently constructed Moses Mabhida Stadium (which also offers tours), with bungee swing, several top-ranking golf courses, horse-riding (or racing if you prefer) and more.
Seasonal events include the Sardine run, rugby, cricket, soccer, Comrades, the Duzi and the Durban July.
